Community Liaison – Valley Spring Recovery Center
Melissa is the Community Liaison for Valley Spring Recovery Center. Born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey, she has deep connections with numerous local nonprofits and small businesses, making her a strong advocate for recovery in the community. Before joining Valley Spring, Melissa was the original Social Media Manager for Alumni in Recovery, a local nonprofit that Valley Spring Recovery Center proudly sponsors and collaborates with. She holds a degree in marketing and has a keen interest in graphic design and social media. Active on TikTok, Tumblr, Reddit, Instagram, and Facebook, Melissa is known for her work as a community recovery advocate. In her role at Valley Spring, Melissa focuses on gathering information from the community to identify its specific needs, ensuring that the center can build effective programming around those needs.
Melissa plays a vital role in bridging the gap between community needs and clinical programming, helping to tailor services that truly resonate with and support the community. She frequently prepares and delivers presentations for local high school students and other community organizations, furthering her commitment to education and outreach. As someone on her own healing journey from substance abuse, Melissa brings nearly a decade of experience in the recovery world and is dedicated to spreading a message of hope and healing to others. In her free time, she volunteers with her therapy dog at local nursing homes, drawing on her background as a retired professional dog trainer.
Bergen County Chamber of Commerce, is excited to announce “Member Monday”! Every Monday we plan to highlight a Bergen County Chamber member by sharing an email blast containing either the member’s professional summary or an article written by the member about a topic within their industry. Every “Member Monday” email blast will contain the featured member’s contact information as well as a link to the member’s website. “Member Monday” provides value to our members by allowing them to highlight themselves in front of the rest of the chamber.
