Cyber Fraud & Security threats are on the rise!

With more and more computer, web, and online cloud-based services and products than ever businesses and individuals need to fortify their cyber defenses to prevent security threats as well as maintain awareness of potential cyber fraud schemes and prevention strategies that businesses and professionals can use to protect themselves.

This Bergen County Chamber of Commerce Zoom event will provide critical information on both current cyber security and financial fraud threats, tactics, and prevention strategies.

Speakers:

Frederic Farcy – President, TNTMAX
Frederic has 30+ years in the field of technology where he has developed expertise in cybersecurity, compliance, open-source technologies, and IT consulting.

Growing up Frederic developed a deep fascination with science and technology. Later in life, while studying technology and mathematics in America, Frederic had the opportunity to study alongside Peter Norton, Linux Torvalds, Ted Ts’o, as well as other titans of the technology industry.

In 2001, Frederic started Trinity Network Technology, a consulting company specializing in IT and web services. In 2004, he rebranded the company to TNTMAX.  TNTMAX has been growing ever since – servicing customers across a wide spectrum of industries primarily located in the tri-state area but with clients worldwide.

Jamie Fuentes – Vice President, Relationship Manager Commercial Lending, TD Bank
Jaime Fuentes is a Commercial Relationship Manager with over 10+ years of experience working within multiple areas of the banking industry. Jaime started his career in retail banking, later transitioning to focus on commercial lending. Jamie has always had a passion for meeting and helping small business owners! Jaime currently serves the business communities in both Bergen and Rockland counties, providing business customers with commercial real estate, working capital, and treasury management solutions that are custom-tailored to each client’s situation. In addition to banking, Jaime enjoys mountain biking with his wife in Ringwood State Park and Vermont.

Barbara Shapiro – Treasury Management Officer, TD Bank
Barbara Shapiro is an experienced branch manager with a demonstrated history of working in the banking industry. She has provided many clients with banking services, portfolio management, commercial lending, and other banking related services. Barbara believes in developing strong business relationships through attention to detail and providing outstanding customer service!

In the latest Verizon 2022 Data Breach Investigations Report, several critical cyber security findings were revealed, including:

  • 96% of breaches are financially motivated.
  • Ransomware is currently the most available malicious software.
  • Healthcare is the only industry where cyber threat is greater on the inside than outside.
  • The top discovery method for breaches is the attacker revealing themselves, usually way after the damage is done.
  • Ransomware rose in prevalence by 13% in 2021, a rise equal to the previous five years combined.
